Open Positions

Open Positions for Research Scientists, Graduate, and Undergraduate Students in the Yang Laboratory

We are thrilled to announce multiple open positions for enthusiastic and dedicated individuals to join the Yang Laboratory, a dynamic research environment committed to advancing innovative tools for tackling complex biological and biomedical challenges. With a rich history of groundbreaking research and a forward-looking vision, our lab fosters an environment where cutting-edge technology meets impactful science.

About the Yang Laboratory: The Yang Laboratory is driven by a profound commitment to exploring novel research avenues within the realms of cell biology, cancer biology, virology, single-molecule biophysics, super-resolution microscopy, molecular transport mechanisms, and intracellular and intercellular trafficking. Over the years, our lab has been at the forefront of technological advancements, pioneering several groundbreaking imaging techniques. Notable among these are the high-speed super-resolution fluorescence microscopy, known as Single-Point Edge-Excitation Sub-Diffraction (SPEED) microscopy, virtual 3D super-resolution imaging algorithms, and the Single-Point Fluorescence Recovery After Photobleaching (sp-FRAP) technique.

Our Achievements: These innovative techniques have significantly contributed to our understanding of nuclear transport mechanisms for various cellular components, such as mRNAs, viral particles, cytosol, membranes, and intrinsically disordered proteins. Moreover, we have successfully elucidated intricate trafficking mechanisms between the cytoplasm and the primary cilium, providing invaluable insights into cellular processes. Our research work has been published in prestigious scientific journals, including Nature Structural and Molecular Biology, PNAS, Nature Protocols, Nature Communications, etc.

Our Research Strategies and Environment: At the Yang Laboratory, we believe in maintaining a harmonious balance between technical development and biological application. This approach allows us to offer a unique and outstanding interdisciplinary research environment that empowers young scientists. As part of our team, individuals will have the opportunity to contribute to ongoing research projects, collaborate with experts in diverse fields, and receive mentorship that cultivates both their technical skills and scientific curiosity.

Open Positions: We are currently seeking passionate individuals to fill positions in the following categories:

  • Research Assistant Professors
  • Postdoctoral Scientists
  • Graduate Students (PhD & Master)
  • Undergraduate Student Researchers

Application Process: Interested candidates are invited to submit their applications, including a detailed resume, cover letter, and contact information for references, to Weidong.Yang@temple.edu.
