Research Interests:

My research interest mainly focuses on: 1) Understanding the conformational dynamics of FG-Nucleoporins in nuclear pore complex (NPC) with the combination of single-molecule tracking, super-resolution microscopy imaging and nanotechnology. I am in the pursuit of visualizing nuclear transport mechanisms in nanometer-scale.

2) Generating the stable, endogenously tagged cell lines by gene-editing technique using a two-step CRISPR-Cas9 knock-in approach to insert a specific DNA sequence at a target location in a cell’s genome for stable expression of different tags under native regulation. 3) Exploring various kinds of RNAs nuclear export pathways and further studying their related nuclear transport receptors to find out the similarities. By integrating super-resolution microscopy techniques, we can reveal the nanometer-scale landscape of RNA transport processes.
